Looking for a place to take your kids for a birthday party, other celebration or just for a fun time out? Here are the top places around Oklahoma City to take your children for excitement and entertainment.
1. The Oklahoma City Zoo
If you haven’t been to the OKC Zoo in several years, you may not know what you’re missing. It has changed for the better significantly in the recent past. The Cat Forest, Great EscAPE and the aquatics shows are all top-notch.
The little ones (under 3) get in free, but the others will only set you back a few bucks. Group rates are available, and the Zoo has birthday packages as well.

2. Orr Family Farm
Not only are there some fantastic things to do for the whole family here, but the prices are quite affordable as well.
Go fishing, ride the train, pet the animals, ride the carousel, play on the playground, sample the jams and jellies or ride the pedal carts on the Orr Grand Prix. For birthday parties, holiday events or just for a family night, this one wins quite easily in the fun-for-the-buck ratio.

3. Science Museum Oklahoma
Watching your child’s eyes cross playing video games may make you long for some more worthwhile entertainment choices. Well, Science Museum Oklahoma (formerly the Omniplex) has to be near the top of the list in that regard. At this museum, you’ll see their eyes get wide with wonder as they view and interact with the exhibits.
Grab a group and go together for special rates, convince your child’s school to consider a field trip or set up a Science Spectacular birthday package.

4. Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History
“Oh a Museum,” you say sarcastically. “Kids love those…” Along with Science Museum Oklahoma and the Zoo, there are ways for kids to have fun while actually learning something. The Discovery Room is a hands-on gallery just for kids that allows them to interact with exhibits and uncover fossils in their own Dinosaur Dig.
The Museum has programs for school classes as well as available reservations for special events.

5. Tiger Safari Inc.
If you’re looking for something a bit more unique than video games in OKC, you want to check this out. Located in Tuttle, Tiger Safari is a non-profit, walk-through wildlife facility.
Meet the animals on a guided tour, getting up close and personal to see how they live. Hosting birthday parties and holding occasional events, Tiger Safari is a fun way for the kids to learn a little bit.

6. Andy Alligator’s Fun Park
Andy Alligator’s Fun Park in Norman is great for birthday parties, but it’s also fun any other day of the week. Kids will have a blast with go-karts, mini-golf, bumper cars or bumper boats, rock-climbing, batting cages, bowling, video games and more. The cafe has pizza and subs, and in 2012, they added a 5-acre, $4.5 million water park that includes a 45-foot tall racer slide, a 400-foot tube slide, a long lazy river, water play structures and a splash zone for the little kids.

7. HeyDay Entertainment Center
Another Norman attraction that is great for kids is HeyDay. It features miniature golf, a huge laser tag arena, indoor ropes course, many arcade games and more. In September 2014, a significant expansion also brings bowling.

8. OKC Skating Rinks – Ice or Roller
There are more location options than I could possibly list. Depending on preference, going ice or roller skating is a great way to have fun while staying active, something kids don’t seem to do enough these days.
Here are a couple of options, and most have some kind of group/birthday package as well:
- Arctic Edge Ice Arena (Edmond): (405) 748-5454
- Blazers Ice Centre (South OKC): (405) 631-3307
- Southwestern Skate Center (S. Western): (405) 632-5484
9. Cactus Jack’s Family Fun Center
It’s been around since the 1970’s, so many of you already know about Cactus Jack’s. With plenty of games to zombie your kids and some old favorites like Pinball and Foosball that even the adults can enjoy, Cactus Jack’s deserves the mention here.
Cactus Jack’s does parties and after-hour rentals, and if you’re a big spender, check out the VIP party option that includes a limousine.
1211 N Council Rd.
10. Celebration Station
Food and fun. They go together like kids and unending energy. Well, this place is fantastic for depleting some of that energy as well as your cash supply.
Celebration Station gets the kids outside for rides, minigolf and more, and it has all the junk food favorites such as pizza, hot dogs and hamburgers. Save yourself some money, though, by checking out the package deals and specials ahead of time.
509 Westline Drive
Previously an Incredible Pizza, GattiTown is a popular spot for birthday parties. It offers all you can eat pizza/pasta buffet, a large game room and amusement options such as miniature golf and go-karts. Click above for a full attraction review.

12. Chuck E. Cheese
Similar to the above two, here’s yet another for that food and fun concept. Chuck E. Cheese has a smaller atmosphere than a place like GattiTown but may be better for the youngsters who can’t play all the video games.
